I made an impulsive art purchase today, and bought this Michael Jackson print from the amazing Greg Gossel. I’m pretty sure this is going over my turntable. Oh yeah.
Here’s another beautiful poster done by one of my favorite design shops, DKNG Studios. I tried to snag on of these for my son’s room, but they sold out too quick!
I stumbled across this tune while listening to a random mix of soul I had. This little gem by Camille “Lil” Bob (of Lil Bob and the Lollipops) is a prime example of how soulful and funky that era was. I wish I could’ve seen some of this music live.

I finally saw The Darkness this past Sunday at the House of Blues in Hollywood, and I have to say it was pretty epic. I tried to see them years and years ago, but missed out, and then they broke up. It was a really tight, high-energy show, and they packed the house. Another pleasant surprise was the opener, Foxy Shazam. If you haven’t heard of them, check out their new single “I Like It”. Hilarious!
A friend of mine sent me this tune and reminded me of how great it is. It’s probably my favorite christmas song with Christmas in Hollis by Run DMC coming in at a close second. And where do you thing Jam Master Jay got the sample for Christmas in Hollis? Yep. From the back door Santa himself, Clarence Carter.
